To further expand the 19-inch standard rack-mounted PC product line, Siemens has launched the entry-level Simatic IPC347E. The brand new Simatic IPC347E rack-mounted PC currently comes in five models with different memory capacities, processor types, hard drives, and optional pre-installed operating systems. It is especially suitable for applications requiring more reliability and durability than office PCs Industrial PC application fields. These applications include visualization and SCADA tasks in factory and process automation, data acquisition and management, testing and measurement tasks, as well as logistics and laboratory automation applications.
The new Simatic IPC347E rack-mounted PC is equipped with seven PCI(e) expansion slots to ensure expandability and easy integration into existing systems, and provides a 500GB hard drive with RAM expandable to 16GB from 2GB or 4GB. Users can choose between Intel Pentium or 4th generation Core i5 processors; other options include ROM/RW DVD drives and pre-installed 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate operating system. This reliable and durable industrial standard rack-mounted PC features dust filters and positive pressure ventilation; maintenance is made easier and faster thanks to front USB ports and externally removable fans.
Like the more powerful rack-mounted PCs in the Simatic IPC product series, the new entry-level Simatic IPC347E is designed for 24-hour continuous reliable operation in industrial environments—especially those with high requirements for temperature, vibration, shock, and electromagnetic compatibility. Rigorous industrial testing and comprehensive industrial certifications ensure that this series can operate continuously and reliably at ambient temperatures up to 40°C without power loss.
The Simatic IPC product series includes scalable embedded box PCs, panel PCs, and rack-mounted PC product lines, supplemented by additional versions for special applications.
