With the brand new version of TIA Portal V15 , Siemens has expanded its fully integrated automation engineering software platform by incorporating a series of practical new digital functions to shorten engineering time. The main innovations include increased application possibilities, expanded digital product portfolio, standardization, and improved engineering efficiency.

TIA Totally Integrated Automation Portal V15 Highlights of increased application possibilities include integration of advanced language applications and multifunctional platforms for other drive systems, including safety acceptance testing; operational functions and 2D to 4D kinematics integrated into Simatic S7-1500 controllers, which can connect to and program robots. Simatic S7-1500 The advanced controller product series includes a new multifunctional platform, currently allowing easy creation and reuse of advanced language applications through C/C++ and Eclipse and other commercial programming tools. Sinamics S120 and other drive product series integration helps realize Siemens' full range of drive technology configuration, debugging, and diagnostics within TIA the Portal. Another highlight is the guided safety acceptance testing for the Sinamics G drive product series. Combined with support for Simatic S7-1500 advanced controllers' CPU new technology, operational functions using 2D to 4D kinematics can now be easily and efficiently programmed, simulated, and debugged within TIA the Portal, such as Cartesian gantry, coiler, Scara robots, and Delta pick-and-place robots. TIA Totally Integrated Automation Portal V15 Robot functions are also provided. Robot manufacturers such as KUKA and Yaskawa have used their data block libraries for robot programming within TIA the Portal. Japanese Denso and Swiss Stäubli and other manufacturers plan to release data block libraries in the near future. This brings control and robotics technology development closer together, while the Portal offers integrated solutions covering all stages from engineering to robot operation. TIA Regarding the expansion of the digital product portfolio, the focus is on

TIA Totally Integrated Automation Portal V15 functions and virtual debugging. OPC UA Functions have been expanded for OPC UA advanced controllers. Simatic S7-1500 This can improve and simplify standardized vertical and horizontal communication between machines and equipment in the plant and the MES/SCADA/IT level (Manufacturing Execution System / monitoring and data acquisition). Additionally, it helps implement automation solutions according to industry-specific standards such as OMAC PackML (Organization for Machine Automation and Control) or Weihenstephan and others. Virtual debugging supports virtual validation of automation solutions, meaning interaction between control components and the electromechanical systems of machines or systems. The core of this Siemens solution is support for Simatic S7-1500 the S7-PLCSIM Advanced advanced simulator. This enables simulation of many controller functions and simulation testing of virtual system models. Therefore, automation and mechanical engineering are synchronized early in the product lifecycle, shortening the time from development to actual commissioning.

In terms of standardization and higher engineering efficiency, the new version of TIA Portal TIA emphasizes teamwork and expanded diagnostics for devices and systems. Through TIA Portal Multiuser Engineering , automatic tagging of changed objects and offline mode have been added to teamwork. Enhanced change management functions in the multiuser server of the new version, such as for change history and user comments, improve synchronized changes supported by the system within the team. For device and system diagnostics, Simatic ProDiag diagnostic package has also been further expanded, now covering monitoring of fail-safe modules and standard analysis of ProDiag alarms. With the similarly expanded Simatic HMI (Human-Machine Interface) graphical control display, S7 the diagnosis and visualization of device sequences and application errors on system operating devices are directly improved. For example, users can now, for the first time, trace the true cause of faults through graphical code display on the operating device.
