The recently purchased "Siemens" automation electronic equipment frequently malfunctions. Since March this year, Siemens (China) Co., Ltd. Shanghai Branch has received warranty calls from multiple corporate users. After company engineers inspected the relevant units, they found that the faults all occurred in the control system part of the automation equipment. Although the industrial control and valve products installed in the system all bear the "Siemens" brand logo, their design and craftsmanship are very rough and are counterfeit products. Further testing by the company showed that the counterfeit industrial control products have poor quality and stability, short service life, and pose certain accident risks when used in automated industrial equipment. Therefore, Siemens immediately reported the matter to the Yangpu police. Well-known company Siemens produces Siemens industrial control computers, Siemens industrial switches, Siemens PLCs, and other products widely used in automation equipment control systems in factories, hotels, docks, and many other enterprises. Due to huge market demand, some unscrupulous individuals have sensed a "business opportunity" and have been selling counterfeit industrial automation operation products under false labels for huge profits. Recently, the Yangpu police concentrated their forces and dismantled a counterfeit registered trademark goods manufacturing and sales den, seizing a large number of counterfeit "Siemens" brand industrial automation electronic modules and other industrial control products and counterfeit labels on the spot. The total value involved in the case exceeds 30 million yuan. According to police investigations, the counterfeit products involved all originated from Shanghai Chaoshuo Industrial Co., Ltd., which does not have the capability to manufacture automation electronic device components, indicating it is only a counterfeit sales unit. Therefore, the special task force decided to investigate the company's daily operations and business dealings, discovering that the company leaders, Xing and Wang, often purchased large quantities of inferior industrial automation product parts from Shenzhen via express delivery and hired multiple employees to package these products. To make the fakes look authentic, Xing and others not only printed the "Siemens" brand logo but also imitated genuine products by producing product packaging, manuals, warranty cards, and even left the Siemens company's joint warranty phone number as the warranty contact. It is reported that Xing and others sold the counterfeit products at genuine product prices via express delivery to more than 120 enterprises in Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Sichuan, Hebei, Hubei, and other regions. On June 25, public security organs in Shanghai, Zhejiang, Hunan, and other places dispatched police forces to carry out a concentrated crackdown on Shanghai Chaoshuo Automation Technology Co., Ltd. for suspected sales of counterfeit registered trademark goods. A total of 8 suspects including Xing and Wang were arrested, 3 criminal gangs involved in manufacturing and selling counterfeit goods were dismantled, 4 production, sales, and storage dens were destroyed, over 600 counterfeit "Siemens" components and 3 manufacturing devices were seized on site, with a case value of 31.7 million yuan. Investigation revealed that Xing was originally a sales staff member for Siemens industrial control products. During his work, he came into contact with counterfeit "Siemens" industrial control products and, tempted by the huge profits between genuine and counterfeit products, he took the risk and embarked on the criminal path of manufacturing and selling counterfeit goods. Currently, the 8 suspects including Xing have been subjected to compulsory measures, and the case is under further trial. —— Reprinted from "China Automation Network" |
